Equifax Data Breach

Important Information Regarding the Equifax Data Breach
Sundown State Bank is aware of the reported Equifax data breach and the possible impact on many Americans. Equifax is one of the largest consumer reporting agencies in the United States and retains personal information on anyone who has ever had their credit checked through their system. It has been reported that cyber thieves have accessed sensitive information to include names, social security numbers, birthdates, addresses and driver’s license numbers.

Equifax has set up an informational website where you can find out whether you are one of the 143 million whose information may have been compromised.

In addition, The Federal Trade Commission is offering steps consumers can take to help protect their information from being misused.
